The ski jumping hill has been built according to the project of Karol Stryjeński ( architect, artist the lover of Tatry Mountains and higlanders). It was ceremonially opened on the 22nd of March 1925 r. and till today remains the largest ski jumping hill in Poland.
Its contruction point is located at 120 meters. From 1980 ( with a break between 1981-1989, 1991-1995, 1997 and 2001), there are organised the most important competitions in ski jumping – Ski Jumping World Cup.
The ski jumping hill is covered with an artificial plastic mattings, what allows to organise competitions also during the summer season. This is a great attraction, especially for kids, to go all the way up to the top of Wielka Krokiew by cable car.
Looking down from the point of runnng start will help you imagine what competitors feel before the jump. By the upper station you can also find a nice coffee place.
