The trail along the montane zone runs along the edge of the National Park. It begins in Kuźnice and ends in Kiry (the beginning of Kościeliska Valley), connecting outlets of the Tatras valleys.
The trail is marked in black colour (but please do remember that the colours of the trails do not indicate the degree of difficulty).
From the trail, you can admire amazing views on Zakopane and Gubałówka. We recommend the trail along the montane zone as a pleasant stroll to Zakopane (the trail ends by the Ski Jumping Hill and it takes around 1,5h. On the way back, you can either walk, take a bus or get a taxi.
In the past, the trail was called the 'Iron road' because from the 18th century it was a place connecting two metallurgical centers. Materials like ores, coal or semi
finished products were transported between Kiry and Kuźnice.
